Pelos discos de Gustavo Dudamel (3)

Depois de dois primeiros discos nos quais dirigiu obras de Beethoven e Mahler e de uma estreia na série digital da Deutsche Grammophon com Bartók, Gustavo Dudamel editou em 2008 o disco que não só se transformaria na mais evidente marca da sua assinatura como é ainda, até ao momento, o mais elogiado dos títulos que editou. Trata-se de Fiesta, no qual a Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil Simon Bolívar interpreta obras de compositores latino-americanos do século XX, de Revueltas a Ginastera, de Carreño a Castellanos, com o Mambo de Bernstein a fechar o alinhamento. Ute Lemper ou a natureza teatral

Pela sua exuberância, tecida de sofisticação e elegância, Ute Lemper é uma daquelas personalidades que pode evocar um rótulo clássico: uma força da natureza. Assim é, de facto. Mas a sua naturalidade em nada contraria — bem pelo contrário, parece atrair — uma elaboradíssima teatralidade.

Assim voltou a ser no magnífico concerto de domingo, no Grande Auditório da Fundação Gulbenkian. Com a Orquestra Gulbenkian, dirigida por Lawrence Foster, Lemper propôs uma digressão Berlim/Paris em que as memórias germânicas (Weill/Brecht) se envolveram com as deambulações francófonas (Brel, Piaf), para desembocarem no espectáculo made in USA, via John Kander (Cabaret, All That Jazz). O concerto conseguiu ser, assim, uma ilustração perfeita da frondosa pluralidade da arte de Lemper e também, afinal, dos muitos cruzamentos temáticos, estéticos e simbólicos que esta temporada 2010/11, delineada por Risto Nieminen, tem sabido promover.

Em cada tema que interpreta, Ute Lemper convoca uma personagem que é a figura ficcional que o tema impõe, mas também uma espécie de alter-ego que dela se distancia, fruindo, desmontando e relançando todos os seus artifícios (hélas!, não é impunentemente que se convoca Brecht). E foi muito bom sentir o maestro e os músicos a participar nesse jogo de máscaras e emoções — afinal de contas, as ironias do entertainment são coisas muito sérias.

Globos de Ouro 2010: entre 'A Rede Social' e 'Glee'

Já houve distinções ao filme do último ano, mas a verdadeira temporada de atribuição de prémios que precedem a entrega dos Óscares começou oficialmente esta madrugada em Los Angeles, com o filme A Rede Social, de David Fincher e a série televisiva Glee a triunfar em mais uma edição dos Globos de Ouro. O filme The Kings Speech, que partia com sete nomeações, acabou apenas por triunfar na categoria de Melhor Actor (Drama), distinguindo assim a interpretação de Colin Firth.
Glee triunfou uma vez mais como melhor série de musical ou comédia, com prémios de interpretação atribuídos a Chris Colfer (que veste a pele de Kurt) e Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester).
Na distribuição final dos números, A Rede Social somou quatro Globos de Ouro, Glee três e Boardwalk Empire, Os Miúdos Estão Bem e The Fighter triunfaram em duas categorias.

Sherlock Holmes segundo a BBC

O herói de Conan Doyle em Londres, século XXI? Com computadores e telemóveis? A BBC mostra que é possível. E com brilhantismo — este texto integrava uma crónica de televisão publicada no Diário de Notícias (14 de Janeiro).

Dos três episódios de 90 minutos que constituem a série Sherlock, com chancela da BBC, apenas tive possibilidade de ver o último. Ainda assim, não queria deixar de registar a sua passagem na RTP2: creio que estamos perante um caso modelar de reconversão da personagem clássica, criada por Arthur Conan Doyle, “forçando-a” a encaixar num mundo em que as mais sofisticadas investigações policiais se processam em cenários naturais e na Net, entre computadores e telemóveis.

Não se trata de um banal processo de modernização, mas sim de uma integração (no nosso presente) em que prevalece um fascinante primitivismo intelectual: dos cenários às roupas, os novos Sherlock Holmes e John Watson parecem existir num limbo simbólico em que o gosto de pensar não foi anulado pelas vertigens da tecnologia. Trunfos fundamentais para tal efeito são as interpretações de Benedict Cumberbatch (Holmes) e Martin Freeman (Watson), figuras de deliciosa e desconcertante teatralidade à procura de um lugar num universo que, afinal, não sabe dispensar os seus talentos.

E quando se fala em produto popular, típico de canais generalistas, vale a pena referir alguns dados muito objectivos: na BBC1 e BBC3, as primeiras emissões de Sherlock começaram entre as 19h30 e as 21h00. Elementar, meu caro Watson.
